F A Q

We only use the data that you share with HeHop to:

  • create, authenticate, and administer your account (in case you need to re-install the app on your mobile or tablet for instance)
  • provide, as required, identifying information to the court, the only competent authority authorised to access, through an encrypted key aka private-key cryptography, your audio, photo or video content as evidence.

For your protection, all digital evidence such as audio, photo, or video content recorded on your mobile phone are latent and therefore will not show in your gallery.

All audio, photo or video content recorded are converted into files signed with the user’s private key and automatically sent to a secure and encrypted server by use of a cryptographic technique called blockchain (where information is stored on multiple digital blocks to prevent data-tampering).

As such, all geo-referenced and time-stamped evidence stored in this tamper-proof digital safe are de facto considered admissible in judicial proceedings.

The day your formal complaint for abuse is filed, you will be able to self-generate a digital code using your phone. The unique encrypted key will allow police officers to request from HeHop to have your complete file of evidence, stored in your digital safe, sent to them for investigation. Such evidence is key when the legal proceedings against the abuser are initiated.

HeHop is an app enabling you to store audio, photo and video content and show that such evidence has relevance and probative value, therefore admissible in a court of law. HeHop ensures:

– the integrity of all files are tamper-proof, preventing alteration of any type. Neither images nor audios can be editing

– the source of the files and its author. All files are digitally signed with a single private key, unique to you, obtained when registering your new user account

– the file’s time-stamp: all files are recorded in a log, including the date and time of the capture

– the files GPS trace showing the exact location of the captures.

Whatever the memory capacity of your device and your internet service plan we want to make sure that every file you capture is transferred properly to your digital safe on the HeHop encrypted server. For that reason, maximum recording duration is limited to 20 minutes for each audio file and to 5 minutes for each video file.

HeHop enables you protect and secure evidence in a digital safe so they are available and ready to use in a judicial file. To get access to your digital safe you must :

  • Send an access request by email to support@hehop.net
  • You will be put in contact with a DPO (Data Protection Officer) who will verify your identity.
  • You will receive permanent identifiers

Then access the safe by going to the site https:/edocsae.fr/ and enter the identifiers received.

You will then be able to download your proofs as well as a certificate of authenticity.

We invite you to consult the educational guide for the detailed procedure.

Before using HeHop on Android, you need to turn on geolocation in your smartphone settings.

Failure to do that might affect the capture and securing of media.
